A 57 by Srikanth and 61 by Sanjoe helped Sandyford reach an impressive 156-05 against Railway Union who made 131-07 in reply with Arul taking 4 wickets., leaving Sandyford with a comfortable victory by 25 runs.

Sanjoe who captained the team and top scored with 61.

They don't come much closer than this. Forget your Man City vs QPR game.  This was more exciting as Sandyford 2/3 beat Dundrum 2/3 by one wicket off the last ball in Marlay Park. Dundrum made 66-9 off their allotted overs (Prem 4-15), and despite being 27-05 with 9 overs gone, Amandeep hit 2 off the last ball to steer the home team  to victory with only one wicket in hand (67-09). Darren O'Brien (below) was captain and top scorer.

The 1sts unbeaten start to the season came to a halt on Saturday away at Merrion. The home team made 252-09, with Sanjoe taking 3 wickets, which Sandyford fell well short of, despite 45* from Prem, being dismissed for 175.

The 3rds had a day to forget in Marlay on Sunday against Ring Common. This was the first time we played this club, once known as Knockbrack Ring Common (KBRC), since 1989. Alas Sandyford was dismissed for a new record low of 14 (less than the 17 against Rush in 2009) which the visitors made for the loss of two wickets.

A double fixture on Sunday as the 3rds took on Adamstown away while the 1st entertained Terenure at Marlay.

Unfortunately the 3rds were unable to break Sandyford's duck against Adamstown where the hosts made 187 which Age's men made a good effort to chase down being eventually all out for 151, including a 50 by Rahman.

Better luck for the 1sts as Sandyford dismissed Terenure for 117 (Anto Burke 4-14) which was chased down for the loss of only 4 wickets.h

The 2nds game on Monday away at Rush was called off due to a water logged pitch.

Finally, on a HAPPY note, congratulations to Club Captain Sanjoe on the birth of his daughter, Nyna, on May 02 2012.

The weekend got off to a promising start with the 2nds easily beating Leinster at Marlay. Leinster batted first and made 109-07 off their allotted overs which Sandyford chased down for the loss of only 4 wickets with Rahman top-scoring on 40.

The 3rds beat Dublin University on Sunday to get their season up and running. In a windy and wet Marlay Park, the home team made 104 ao which the students never challenged, being dismissed for 42.
